ROSEMONT, Ill. (April 27, 2008 ) – The Cooper Tires Invitational had two bull riders leaving the Windy City as co-champions at the 18th stop of the elite Professional Bull Riders’ (PBR) Built Ford Tough Series presented by Wrangler (BFTS). Fans crowded into the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Ill. where they were treated to the world’s top 45 bull riders all competing for top points in the BFTS and its ultimate crown—the PBR World Championship title and million dollar bonus.

Three-time world champion Adriano Moraes (Cachoeira Paulista, SP, Brazil) was joined in the winner’s circle by Dustin Hall (Springfield, Mo) as the both covered two of three bulls and were ultimately named co-champions of The Cooper Tires Invitational. Moraes left the Allstate Arena with $23,740.50 while Hall took a check of $22,272.50, both scoring 177.5 points on three head.

Moraes started his weekend with a fifth place finish by scoring 86.75 points on Martinez Bucking Bull, LLC’s Mastermind. He was bucked off in round two, but came back to win Built Ford Tough Championship Round by riding Chad Berger/Clay Struve’s prize bull, Say I Won’t Gunner, with the highest marked ride of the event with a 90.75 point score. “This win means a lot to me especially it being my last year on tour. This bull [Chad Berger/Clay Struve’s Say I Won’t Gunner] was showy, gets lots of air, and went into my hand. I was pretty happy I got him in the short round,” Moraes said.

Hall bucked off his first round bull, Korkow Rodeo’s Swamp Donkey, but placed fourth in the second round by riding Cold Play, owned by Jeff Robinson/Bar-X, for 87.75 points. He covered Silverado Rodeo Company’s Crossroads in the Built Ford Tough Championship round for 89.75 points and a second place finish in the round. “I didn’t think I’d win by only covering two bulls, but I’m glad it worked out that way,” Hall stated. “It’s great to share the win because in the end, the money spends the same.”

Third place at The Cooper Tires Invitational went to current no. 1 ranked bull rider Guilherme Marchi (Leme, SP, Brazil) who covered two bulls and finished the weekend with 175.75 points. Marchi bucked off his first round bull, Three Hills Rodeo’s Migraine, but placed second in round two after riding the bull, Yellow Snow, owned by Robinson/Shrader/Anchor Bull Co. for 88.25 points. He covered his short-go bull, Silverado Rodeo Company’s Malibu, for an 87.5 point ride and a third place finish.

Rounding out the top four was Australian Brendon Clark (Morpeth, AUS) who went into the Built Ford Tough Championship Round in first place after covering his first round bull, 5G Farms Bucking Bulls’ Hat Rack, and his second round bull, Diamond K Bucking Bulls’ Joker’s Wild. Clark ended up bucking off of Rafter 7R Bucking Bulls’ Gnash during the Championship Round.

The race for PBR’s million dollar world title takes the top 45 bull riders in the world to Des Moines, Ia., on May 2-3 for the Des Moines Classic.
